Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans
North Texas Chapter

The Texas Association of Vietnam Veterans, North Texas Chapter is a non-profit organization, whose membership is composed of not only Vietnam Veterans, but other veterans from other wars as well, such as World War II, Korean War, Desert Storm, and now, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Our goals and purpose is to help all veterans and military members, regardless of war or branch of service, and whether or not they are still on active duty, retired, disabled, and to assist our community in any way we can.

Below are just a few of the many things that we do to help our community. We make twice a year contributions to:

    Provide Scholarship's for some young person to both Midwestern State University and Vernon College.
    Provided assistance to the Hospice of Wichita Falls.
    Wichita Falls Children's Aid Society.
    Wichita Falls Faith Mission.
    Wichita Falls Faith Refuge.
    Wichita Falls First Step.
    Interfaith Outreach Services.
    Museum of North Texas History.
    McGruf,the Crime Fighting Dog.
    Wichita Falls Elks Lodge #1105.
    The United States Army Adopt a Chaplain Program.
    Needy Widows of Vietnam Veterans.
    Place flags on the graves of veterans on Memorial Day.
    Sponsor and participate in "Support Our Troop Rally's" in various communities.
    Participate in Flag Day ceremonies.
    Provide historical and educational presentations to schools and other organizations.
    Participate in Veterans parades and local events.
    Two of our members are members of the North Texas Veterans Council to help veterans of all services and wars.
    Provide assistance and support in bringing the traveling "Wall Experience" to Wichita Falls.
    This year alone (2018), we gave $700 to a Boy Scout to refurbish graves at the Wichita County Cemetery.
    We also gave $400 to American Legion Post 169 to sponsor youth to American Legion Boys State.
    And many, many other things that help our veterans, our community, and our citizens.
    We have a quarterly Pot Luck Dinner and Annual Christmas Party.
    We are a Family Oriented group, with spouses, widows, and guests alway welcome. You do not have to be a member to join us.
    We curretly have approximately 35 active members and of that number, 15-16 regularly attend our monthly meetings.
